The Horseshoe Inn Woburn
The Horseshoe Inn: Woburn
This inn is known only from a reference in a court roll for the Manor of Woburn in 1635. William Ashton was admitted to the copyhold property for a term of sixty one years from 25th March 1634. He may, or may not, also have been the licensee. The inn is not mentioned in the 1661 survey of properties held by the manor so it had presumably closed by then. Perhaps it was one of the properties destroyed in the 1645 fire in the town.
