60 High Street was listed by English heritage in August 1983as Grade II, of special interest. It dates from the late 17th century and is timber-framed with colour-washed plaster infill and an old clay tiled roof. It comprises one storey and attics and has a 20th century extension to the south-east gable end.
The Rating and Valuation Act 1925 specified that every building and piece of land in the country was to be assessed to determine its rateable value. The valuer visiting the property [DV1/C222/5] found that it was owned by Mrs Beeby and occupied by F Wright who paid rent of £6 per annum for a living room, a kitchen and two bedrooms with a weather-boarded and thatched barn outside. The valuer considered the property to be "nice".
