22 High Street was listed by the former Department of Environment in June 1974 as Grade II, of special interest. It is a 19th century cottage constructed of colour-washed roughcast over clay lumps and has a slate roof. It comprises two storeys.

The Rating and Valuation Act 1925 specified that every building and piece of land in the country was to be assessed to determine its rateable value. The valuer visiting 22 High Street which, together with the block of five dwellings behind was known as Riseley Court, found it owned by the Ancient Order of Foresters and tenanted by C Clayton who paid £4/10/- per annum for a living room, kitchen and two bedrooms. A brick and tiled barn stood outside.
