Wybridge Cottage March 2016
Wybridge Cottage March 2016

Wybridge Cottage was listed by the former Department of Environment in August 1983 as Grade II, of special interest. The listing dates it from the 18th century and it is timber-framed with colour-washed roughcast render and has a thatched roof. The cottage comprises two storeys.

The Rating and Valuation Act 1925 specified that every building and piece of land in the country was to be assessed to determine its rateable value. The valuer visiting the cottage [DV1/C213/37] found that it was owned by J W Flute and tenanted by F J Woodward at £4/10/- per annum rent. It comprised a living room, a kitchen and two bedrooms. Outside stood a wood and corrugated iron store barn, a wood and thatched bicycle store and wood and corrugated iron hen house and pigsty.
