Linslade Lock Cottage

Linslade Lock Cottage is accessed by a path from the northernmost point of Bossington Lane. It was built to house the keeper of the lock on the Grand Junction Canal which was opened in 1800.

The cottage was listed by the former Department of National Heritage in 1993. It is Grade II, of special interest and is described thus: "Lock cottage. Early 19th century with later additions. Built for Grand Junction Canal Company. Painted brick. L-plan. Hipped slate roof with overhanging eaves, ridge stack and lateral wall stack. two storeys, three bay symmetrical front with central doorway with 20th century door, flanked by single glazing bar sashes. Above, a range of three similar windows. All windows have flat, rubbed brick arches and window sills each have two brackets. Elevation facing lock has four similar windows and a lean-to porch with 20th century door. Adjoining lean-to is a single storey office of painted brick with pyramidal slate roof, single tall stack and a single glazing bar sash window with flat arch facing lock".
