Water Tower 1

Ravensden Water Tower

Although in no way an attractive feature, the tower has nevertheless become an icon of the village located as it is on the highest point in the area, and being over 100 feet in height itself.

It was constructed of reinforced pre cast concrete in 1951 to improve the water supply and water pressure to properties in the village and holds 100,000 gallons of water.  Because of its height and colour it can be seen from as far away as the Sand Hills in Sandy, the Greensand Ridge and even the M1. Motorway.
