Number 3 Blunham Road is a charming thatched cottage at the southern end of Blunham Road on the west side. It was listed by the former Department of Environment in March 1985 as Grade II, of special interest. The house was then 1 Blunham Road and was a post office and stores. The department dated the property, to the 18th century. It is built of colourwashed roughcast over a timber frame and has a thatched roof. It comprises a two room, two storey block facing the road with a single storey block behind with attics forming an L-shape. There is a 20th century single storey extension at the south end.

The Rating and Valuation Act of 1925 specified that every piece of land and building in the country should be assessed to determine the rates to be paid on it. Blunham was assessed in 1927 and the valuer visiting 3 Blunham Road noted that it was owned and occupied by G. Daniels and stood in 0.123 of an acre. The cottage comprised a shop measuring 11 feet by 10 feet, a parlour, living room and bathroom downstairs with four bedrooms above. A washhouse and barn stood outside along with a wood and corrugated iron two bay shed in the garden. The valuer commented: "Shop a converted Parlour. Saleof Groceries and Tobacco. Very poor at Back. Double Front. 2 Cottages knocked into one". Water was piped into the washhouse.
