Woodlands Lodge Clapham

 Woodlands Lodge March 2017
Woodlands Lodge March 2017

Woodlands Lodge was listed by English Heritage in August 1987 as Grade II, of special interest. It dates from the early 19th century and is described as “picturesque”. The exterior is coated in whitewashed roughcast and the building has a thatched roof.

The Rating and Valuation Act 1925 specified that every building and piece of land in the country was to be assessed to determine its rateable value. The valuer visiting the lodge [DV1/C278/123] found it owned, naturally enough, owner A Cox of Woodlands. It was occupied by E Brewer. The single storey accommodation comprised a kitchen and a living room and two bedrooms. Interestingly the property is described as brick and tile construction.
