8 Church Road April 2009

8 Church Road, Tingrith in April 2009

No. 8 Church Road is an early to mid-19th century two storey building with roughcast, steep Welsh slate roof with ornamental bargeboards to side gables and projecting central gable. There are "Tudor" cement rendered chimney stacks, 1:1:1 diamond lattice casements.

The Rating and Valuation Act 1925 specified that every building and piece of land in the country was to be assessed to determine its rateable value. The valuer visiting the building [ref: DV1/C240/22] found that it was then used as the village hall, owned by S Hubbard. He remarked: “Very good now. Done up and added to by Hubbard”.

Included in the Provisional List at Grade III but not in the Statutory List.
