There are very few sources for education in Shelton. Those held by Bedfordshire and Luton Archives and Records Service are as follows:

• WG1111: A list of children attending Shelton Sunday school: 1808;
• WG1112/1-3: correspondence regarding an application to build a school on the site of a cottage owned by the parish: July 1875;
• X308: deed conveying the site for Shelton school: 1877;
• WG2914: receipts for Neal’s Charity money received by the parish of Shelton: 1881-1903.
