Mount Pleasant Methodist church was created in 1989. It was formerly the church hall of Marsh Road Methodist church. This church had been built in 1905 but, as Irving Rumbles says in his very useful booklet Luton Methodism in the 20th Century, by the 1980s the building was in need of serious attention. It was, therefore, decided to sell the church and convert the church hall into a church using the money received for the old church. As the new church faces onto Mount Pleasant Road it was named Mount Pleasant Methodist church.

The church was in Luton Circuit. In 2010 this circuit merged with Chiltern Downs Circuit to form the new South Bedfordshire Circuit. As yet [2012] Bedfordshire and Luton Archives and Records Service does not have any records from the church.
