The only reference to the Packhorse Inn at Girtford comes in a lease for six years from Humphrey Monoux of Sandy to John Layton of Sutton, husbandman of land at Kinwick as well as the Packhorse Inn, Girtford, with six closes pasture containing fifteen acres, with the Nook in the Spurr Mead adjoining [AD3282].
