A Grade II Listed Building. Historic England suggests that 82 High Street was most likely constructed in the eighteenth century or earlier.
The History of No 82 High Street is relatively easy to trace since the Clare Family, Watch and Clock Makers, Jewellers, Silversmiths, Engravers and Optical Instrument Retailers were in residence from the beginning of the 19th Century until 1956, a total of around 156 years. The shop then became a Linen dealers under B and W Ltd and Herald Shops. Post 1976 Sharp Audio, Blue Arrow Recruitment and Coffeewithart have been the proprietors.
