Waggon & Horses Public House: 105 Bedford Road, Barton-le-Clay

The Waggon & Horses is a public house located on Bedford Road in Barton-le-Clay.

The Rating and Valuation Act 1925 specified that every building and piece of land in the country was to be assessed to determine its rateable value. The valuer visiting the property, on 21st February 1927 [ref: DV1/C22/134] found it was owned by J W Green Ltd and occupied by Charles T Squire.

The property is noted as being right to the north of the village. Downstairs is a small tap room, a very small bar, a licensed private room, a kitchen and a scullery. Upstairs are three bedrooms. Outside is a stable for three and a barn.

Trade is listed as ¾ barrel and 9 dozen bottles per week. It is licensed to sell beer.

As of 2026, the pub is still open.
