Barton-le-Clay Church Repairs and Alterations
In 1879, the church underwent restoration, a brass plaque commemorating the work is adjacent to the organ. During this restoration the east window was redesigned, a door in the north wall was bricked up and porches which had protected both doors were removed in order, so it is believed, to stop gossiping.
On 3rd February 1967, it was granted grade I listed status by English Heritage. It is surrounded by 19th century iron railings with a lamppost which has its own separate grade II listed status.
