Why is it at Bedfordshire & Luton Archives?

These maps are very curious! They were deposited as part of a collection of planning applications submitted to Leighton & Linslade Urban District Council between 1910 and 1940. It is possible one of the local architects there had shares in some mines, and the plans were mixed up with those for more local ventures.
