Eaton Socon is an ancient parish formerly in the north-east of Bedfordshire. It was also formerly a civil parish, but this was abolished in 1965 and divided between Roxton, the new civil parish of Staploe, and St Neots, then in Huntingdonshire. The ancient parish included hamlets at Basmead Manor, Beggary (or Begwary), Bushmead, Cadbury Manor, Crosshall, Duloe, Eaton Ford, Honeydon, Little End, Staploe and Wyboston, most of which were subsequently incorporated into the civil parish of Staploe.
As part of St. Neots, Eaton Socon itself is now in Cambridgeshire and more recent records can be found at Cambridgeshire Archives, while the historic records remain at Bedfordshire Archives.
