Timeline of Events at Brogborough

1246: First mention of Brogborough Park when the Canons of Dunstable were accused of trespass there.

1649-50: Colonel John Okey, a Roundhead, purchased Brogborough Park. Colonel Okey was one of the regicides who signed the death warrant of Charles I. After leaving the army in 1654 Okey lived at the Roundhouse.

1983: Brogborough Landfill site opened.

1987: The London Brick Company donate a building for use as the Village Hall.

1991: New power station opened, powered by gas given off by the decomposition of the rubbish at Shanks & McEwan's landfill site.

1993: The Roundhouse gutted by fire in August.

1998: The Roundhouse, a Grade 2 listed building, after years of neglect is lost forever.
