36 & 38 Silver Street
This property was researched by John Thurston.
While nominally No 34 (Former Bell Inn and Beales Department store) was historically the last even address in Silver Street, No’s 36 and 38 have sporadically been mentioned in Directories since 1901.
They would appear to be purely convenience postal addresses mainly used by Ezra Braggins and Sons Ltd, Drapers and Outfitters, or one of their sub-lets, Cash and Company, bootmakers until they sold the store to Beales Department Store in 1982. The complex is currently empty apart from the No 1 Currency Store, Foreign Exchange which has taken the No 36 postal address over.
