Baptists in Dunton
According to the Bedfordshire Archaeological Parish Survey, which was carried out by the Conservation Section of the County Planning Department in 1978, there was considerable activity in the parish during the 17th century by non-confomists [ref: PL/AC2/15].
The Baptist Chapel was built in about 1849 and registered on 28th March 1861 by Philip Griffiths, a Baptist Minister of Langford Street, Biggleswade.
The last wedding to be performed at the Chapel was of Lilian E Harradine and Reginal G Covington in 1970 [ref: Z956/134]. The chapel closed in the early 1970s
