Dark Age Heath and Reach
There are few visible signs of the Dark Ages (410 to 1066) in Heath and Reach but given that the area was occupied in Roman times and in 1066 it seems a reasonable guess that there was some occupation here throughout the period.
The one piece of evidence for occupation on the ground was investigated in 2001. A bank and ditch in King's Wood was reckoned to be an Anglo-Saxon feature marking the county boundary as well as the perimeter of the wood.
