Mistletoe Cottage was listed by the former Department of Environment in June 1974 as Grade II, of special interest. It dates from the 18th century and is built of colour-washed roughcast over a timber frame with a thatched roof. The cottage comprises a single storey with attics and has a large 20th extension on the south-east gable end.

The Rating and Valuation Act 1925 specified that every building and piece of land in the country was to be assessed to determine its rateable value. The valuer visiting the property, then called The Nest, found it owned by a Miss Bayes and occupied by W King who paid "no rent by arrangement" for a living room, kitchen, scullery and three bedrooms as well as a plaster and tiled barn outside. The valuer considered the property "very nice".
