Anglo-Saxon Riseley

The Bedfordshire Historic Environment Record [HER] contains information on the county's historic buildings and landscapes and summaries of each entry can now be found online as part of the Heritage Gateway website. A silver coin known as a sceat was found in Riseley in 2007. It dates from between 710 and 720 [HER 20986]. Another silver sceat found in the same year belongs to the period 710 to 760 [HER 20987]. A fragment of a copper-alloy mount found in 2007 may date to the years between 600 and 1000 AD [HER 21012].
