100 High Street was listed by the former Department of Environment in June 1974 as Grade II, of special interest. The cottage dates from the 18th century and is timber-framed with colour-washed plaster and brick infill. The roof is part thatched, part pantiled. The property has one storey and is built in an L-shape. There is a 20th century lean-to porch.

The valuer visiting the property [DV1/C217/99] found that it stood in a third of an acre and was owned by J Johnson and tenanted by J Dickens whose rent was £7 per annum for a living room, a kitchen, a scullery and two bedrooms. A brick and tiled barn used as a fowl shed stood outside along with a weather-boarded, tiled, plaster and thatched barn used as a store. The valuer summed the property up as: "Neat".
