Quakers in Little Barford

A Collection of the Sufferings of the People Called Quakers Volume I was published in 1753 and covers acts against Quakers from 1650 to 1689 throughout the country. Each county has a chapter and that for Bedfordshire notes that in 1664: "A Widow of Little Bareford, named Rawling, for a Demand of £5 10s. for Tithe, suffered by Distress of Horses and Cattle to the Value of £50". She must have been ealthy to have had animals worth £50 appropriated for non-payment of tithes.
