52 Station Road is one of the cottages in Station Road built by the Tempsford Estate for its tenants. This cottage was built in 1878 from yellow brick, with red brick facings; it has a slate roof. The attractive cottage comprises two storeys.

The Rating and Valuation Act 1925 specified that every building and piece of land in the country was to be assessed to determine its rateable value. The valuer visiting the cottage [DV1/C157/99] found it still owned by the Tempsford Estate but vacant. It comprised a parlour, a living room, two bedrooms and a box room. A washhouse stood outside as did a barn and larder. Water came from a tap in the washhouse. The valuer noted:  “Very  good estate cottage. Being kept for estate gardener.”
