77 Church Street was listed by the former Department of Environment in July 1977 as Grade II, of special interest. The house dates from the 17th century and is of timber-framed construction with pebbledash render and clay tiled roof. It comprises two storeys

The Rating and Valuation Act 1925 specified that every building and piece of land in the country was to be assessed to determine its rateable value. The valuer visiting the property [DV1/C75/8] found that it was owned and occupied by W Burr whose living accommodation comprised two living rooms, a kitchen, a scullery and three bedrooms. Outside were three wood and corrugated iron barns.
