Saint Andrew's was created a district within the ecclesiastical parish of Christ Church in 1887 and became an independent ecclesiastical parish on 21st December 1933. The Bishop of Saint Albans holds the advowson to Saint Andrew's Church. A list of vicars is as follows:

  • Thomas Hugh Pyke - 15th February 1934 (he left in July 1936 on institution to Ecclesfield [Yorkshire]);
  • John Manley Hawker - 9th September 1936 (committed suicide 6th May 1938);
  • Arthur Lyle Bradbury - 13th August 1938 (resigned October 1946);
  • Ronald Arthur Hook - 1946;
  • Richard Roper Wesson - 30th June 1954 (resigned May 1970 to become Rector of Saint Andrew's, Hertford);
  • Michael Andrew Turner - 9th December 1970 (curate at the church 1961-64; he resigned in October 1977 to become a full time teacher at DenbighHigh School, Luton);
  • Jack Robin Brown - 24th February 1978;
  • Peter V. Stokes - 1985;
  • R. Jane Bass - 1995
  • Grantley A. Finlayson - 2002.
