69 Wing Road is also known as Warwick House. It was presumably built in the latter half of the 19th century as Linslade expanded with the coming of the railways. If McCubbin's shop seemed a little empty it was probably because his main place of business was his outfitter's shop at 35 High Street, Leighton Buzzard. The 1891 census shows that McCubbin was then aged 60 and had been born in Stratford-upon-Avon [Warwickshire], circumstantial evidence that he was, perhaps the first one to live in the property and gave it its name. His wife, Harriett, aged 58 came from Leighton Buzzard suggesting that he had lived in the area for many years, their children were Florence, aged 21 and born in Linslade and Ernest, 19, born in Linslade and apprenticed to his father. The family had one general domestic servant living with them - Albert Allen, 21, born in Leighton Buzzard.

In 2008 Warwick House was sold and was described as containing a pillared portico entrance with terrazo tiled step; an entrance hall; a drawing room with "original white marble fireplace and mantel with ceramic tiled hearth and wrought iron fireplace with glazed insert"; a dining room "with original brown marble fire surround and mantel with ornate cast-iron fireplace with quarry tied hearth"; kitchen/breakfast room; sitting room; conservatory; rear lobby; cellar; utility room; shower room and cloakroom. Upstairs were four bedrooms, one with an en-suite shower/dressing room, a family bathroom and a separate w.c.; the garage was converted from the old coach-house with a workshop area to the rear and a loft over and the rear garden was around 100 feet long with horse chestnut trees and fruit trees.

Kelly's Directory reveals that Samuel Bunker of Bunker Brothers, cattle dealers was in occupation from at least 1931 until at least 1939.
