These three brief inventories of the goods of poor people in Kempston are part of the All Saints parish archives [P60/18]

Inventories of ‘all of the Poor people that take weekly collection in the said Parish of Kempston’

7th November 1775

The effects of Widow Gale: 1 bedstead, 1 flock bed, 1 blanket, 2 sheets, 1 bolster, 1 deal table, 1 oaken table, 2 stools, 7 chairs, 1 flash stool, 2 flasks, 2 stands to hold pitchers, 1 pair of bellows, fire shovel, tongs, 1 small brass kettle, 1 hand bowl, 4 wooden dishes, 1 ladle, 1 candlestick, 1 hour glass, a tinder box and steel, 1 brass warming pan.

In the dwelling house, 2 brass kettles, 1 dinner plate, 1 deal table, 3 chairs, 1 pot hook, 1 broiling iron, fire shovel, tongs, 1 tub, 1 cupboard, 1 wooden dish, 2 trenchers, 2 earthen dishes. In the parlour 2 feather pillows with covers, 1 flock bed and bolster, 1 pair of hemp sheets, 2 blankets, 1 coverlet, 1 bedstead with curtains, 2 coffers with wearing apparel in them.

3 tables viz 1 oak, 1 elm, 1 deal, 8, chairs, 1 cupboard, 2 brass boiling pots, 1 kettle, 2 stools, 1 jointed, 4 wooden dishes, 8 trenchers, 2 small oken boxes, 1 warming pan, 1 pewter funnel, 1 key fork, 1 wooden hand bowl, 1 hour glass, 4 small pot hooks, 2 trevels, 2 roiling irons, tong & bellows, 1 lock iron & pads, 1 large bible, 1 dough trough, 2 tubs, 2 barrels for beer, 1 brass frying pan, 1 drink stall, 1 form, 2 wooden platters, 1 wicker bottle, 1 bobin wheel.

In the upper rooms 2 oaken bedsteads, 3 beds viz 1 feather, 1 flock, 1 straw, 3 feather pillows, 1 flock pillow, 3 pairs of sheets, 3 blankets, 1 quilt, curtains and rods for 1 bed, 2 old chairs, 2 oaken chests, 1 oaken coffer, 1 chest of drawers
